A ROBBERY ATTEMPTBark Door of Halnsworth Drug StoreBattered Saturday Night.A robbery attempt was made at the rear door of the Hainsworth Drug Company, early Sunday morning. The attempt occurred between 2 and 2:30o'clock.Six holes had been drilled in the door with brace and bit, and then a chisel was used to pry open a hole large enough for the marauder to slip his arm through and unbolt the door.Charles Kennedy, an employe of the Schneider Cafe, sleeps in an apart- j ment above the drug store, and heard the noise of the tools being used Upon investigation, the robber fled. ••Tommy” Hainsworth. proprietor, put a long strip of steel plate over the damaged part of the door, which should frustrate any further attempts to breakin.Hainsworth stated the only motivehe could think of for the attempted robbery was that he had an unusually good day selling ice cream aodas. His bargain soda sold at the rate of 800 for the day, using up 40 gallons of ice cream, and several gallons of chocolate syrup.
