So on Monday, June ft, I delivered some coal, in a county truck, at the direction of Dave Taylor, and while doing so X went and saw Jim Jones at the Home Cabin camp where he lived in one of the cabins. X told him that thesheriff had found my fingerprints on the vault door, and that 1 waa leaving, anlt;j I wanted the money.He said, Well, it will not b* a good idea to give it all to you, because if you are caught you will be out all of that money, take just a fewdollars to eat on, and when you getfar enough away, write to me, and I will send it to you.'“I said. ‘All right,’ and he gave me five dollars, and I left. I then drove the truck over near the Presbyterian church, where I taw a Packard sedanstanding in front of the church, and got into this sedan and drove to Pocatello, where I was arrested, andtaken to the city jail.“Sheriff Meppen, Deputy Sheriff Tillman and Prosecuting Attoreny Mackenzie brought me back to Idaho Fails I make this statement for the purpose of clearing up the matter of the theft of the money from the assessors office, and to remove suspicion from the assessor and his office force, and from Dave Taylor.“LARRY LANE.** Subscribed and sworn to before me this 8th day of June, 1933.W, D.
