SHERIFF WITHWARRANTDOG CATCHERW. R, FACKLER IS FACING FRAUD CHARGE IN JUSTICE COURT*****ALLEGED TO HAVE DISAPPEAREDDURING TUESDAY%Vrmt’jj with a warrant charging W.U. Fackler, deputy sheriff, who thepast two or three years has held theposition of dog catcher, with presenting a fraudulent hill to the County Auditor, Sheriff Lewis is now endeavoring to locate the dog catcher, who Is alleged to have disappeared Tuesday of this week, taking with him four or live horses and other property. According to Sheriff Lewis he recently suspected Fackler of presenting false receipts as to the number of dogs disposed of at the fertilizerfor servicesIascertained that he had dropped out of sight over Tuesday, and Sheriff Lewis is now endeavoring to locatehim and return him to this city to facethe charge. ♦It i« claimed by Sheriff Lewis that virtually all of the bill for $145 was for dogs never destroyed.According to Sheriff Lewis, Fackler will also be called upon to explain some other deals, among which are the presence of defaced and altered license tags which it is claimed, were issued by Fackler, and are beginning lo turn up.Among the numerous “deals which, it is alleged, Fackler turned here, was one, in which he obtained possession of a horse from Ccfunty Commissioner John Browning.The special provision of the statutes for presenting a fraudulent bill to county officials* and receivingmoney for same, carries with it a very heavy tine where the amount is under $35 and a heavy hue and several years in tho penitentiary where thp amount is over $35.Fackler. when he left the city, is said to have left his household goods.plaut* and his last amounted to $145.
