ii.i« uv^nuiiia .Harry McLean, who made the assault on Jackson Hranstetter in East Dubuque, was sent up for five years to do penal servitude. The Galena Gazette revives interest in the case, saying-: “On the night of Nov. 30 lastMcLean and Hranstetter met about midnight as they w*ere on their way to their respective dwellings in East Dubuque, and had an altercation, with the result that McLean drew his revolver and fired at Hranstetter. The bullet entered the front of the latter’s face and lodged in the nasal cavity, where it was extracted a few- days later, and Hranstetter speedily recovered from the wound. McClean was arrested in Dubuque three hours after the shooting. He waived examination and was brought to Galena. He has since been in jail, having faded to furnish bail. McLean is an iron-moulder by trade and came to East Dubuque from Chicago last year.
