William II. Sullivan, Libertytownship, was arrested on Slav 31, charged with assault and battery on Mrs. Mandy Elder. The claim was that he came from under a bridge near his home, as she was riding by, took hold of her and made indecent proposals. The weakness and inconsistency of the evidence and Mr. Sullivan's excellent character, caused his prompt dismissal when the case was tried before .Justice Noble, on Saturday.
