CHICAGO tAP - A Chicago man was charged with posses Mon of money taken in what FBI authorities described as one of several bank robberies committed by a gang known as the “Dixie Mafia ’’Forest I) “Cotton McGuire 37, was charged Monday with possession ot stolen money from an October 1971 robbery in Fallston, N C U S Magis trate James T Balog set bond at $150,000 and ordered him to appear in court Thursday McGuire was indicted bv a Tennessee grand jury oncharges that he possessed the stolen monev in that state Ifconvicted, McGuire faces a maximum sentence of 10 vears in prison and a $10,000 fine An FBI agent said two Dixie Mafia members were convicted last year of robbing the Fallston bank They were sentenced to 20 years in prison The official described the or ganization as a loosely knit group without ethnic ties that has operated for about two or three years, robbing banks in small Southern towns It has about 20 or 25 members, most of whom live in Northern states, he said He said other members livedin Chicago hut he would not specify the number
