Dead’ Bandit Fights Gun Battle With Cops Alter Hold-UpOKLAHOMA CITY, June 4 (APH* Two gun battles were fought in the center of Oklahoma City yesterday before police captured a man whom they had assumed dead and had left lying in an alley.Detectives reported that they had tried to question a man concerning a theater hold-up when he opened fire. One of them was hit m the leg and abdomen before police fehed the assailant with a fusilade The man was believed to be dead and was left while the wounded detective was taken to hospital. Two police patrols later found him crawlingfrom the scene. „ .He was identified as an ex-convictfrom New York. He pulled thetrigger of a gun several times asthev approached, the patrol said,shouting “either kill me, or 111shoot you.”Police then opened fire and brought the man edown a secondtime.
