During the -ordeal, the woman also was forced to lay in a bed of fire ants with ’ 'Uncecum atop her as he tried tohide and avoid the glare of headlights from a passing vehicle. She also said Lincecum, wielding a knife, ordered her to perform oral sex.“I felt 1 would rather have him slice my throat than do that,” she said, explaining her refusal. “He has ruined my life, cost me my marriage.”Police who arrested Lincecum for the La Grange robbery Jinked him to the Coppedge slayings.Authorities said Lincecum gave them a statement Dec. 4 in which he described abducting and killing the mother and boy. Kuhn contended the state did notprove its case and only had the confession.“I think the evidence is quite clear,” Sebesta said. “The evidence screams out in capital letters.”The witnesses included Lincecum’s girlfriend who said he gave her jewelry that was identified as belonging to Mrs. Coppedge.The trial was moved to Angleton in Brazoria County from Brenham because of fears Lincecum could not get a fair trial in the Washington County community.
