Melrose, Independence, a vote of confidence yesterday, when they nominated him for county attorney. Melrose, the incumbent, this spring fficed ouster proceedings and a district court trial on the charge of illegally attempting to influence an officer; he won a verdict of not guilty in the jury trial and the state then dropped its oustercase.Melrose received 871 votes in the primary while his opponents Karl Greif and John Kramer, both of Independence, received 667 and 664 respectively.Emery Hart, Independence, snatched the Republican sheriff nomination with 1543 votes from present sheriff Kenneth Miller, who got 839, and M. J. McCardle with 210. Auditor J. M. Gemmel, Independence, gained his re-nomi-nation by defeating Earl E.
