Teen faces traffic chargesA Burlington teen led police on a high speed chase on Bur hngton's south side early Sunday morning, reaching a speed of 95 mph in Crapo Park, according to authorities.Joshua Jack Carman, 17, 1204 Navajo St., faces numerous traffic charges stemming from the 11-minute chase, which began about 1:26 a.m. in the 1200 block of South Street.Police refused to identify Carman because he was a juvenile But court records of his citations disclosed his identity.According to a police report, an officer had clocked the suspect's car at 40 mph in a 25-mph zone, and began pursuit.Police gave up the chase, for safety reasons, on U.S. 61 south of Burlington, but cited the teen at his residence an hour later.Carman faces three speeding charges, two stop-sign violations, and charges of reckless driving and eluding a police officer.The suspect ran without headlights during the chase, and traveled at speeds of 80 to 95 mph, according to Burlington Police Capt. Robert Sloan.
