Carley and John Doty, who were searching in the same locality, they boarded the boat, making the excuse that they were tired and wanted a ride. Lewis drew his knife from hispocket, his sense of guilt evidentlymaking him suspicious of the new arrivals, but Mr. Carley coolly bor rowed the knife to whittle a toothjrvremote part of the fair grounds onQtthe banks of the Neversink river, ac-companied by a young man namede P.
