“Cialmftne* BUI.William Demar, colored, commonly known as “Galraaiaed Bill/’ created a Ben Ration on Lower Tenth street Saturday night. It appears that William had on a high pressure of steam and went home with a shot gun, declaring that he intended to shoot his wife. Officers Meeker and Morris hearing of the threats of Demar, proceeded to his house, and forced an entrance, intending to place him in the lock-up, but Demar made his escape out the back way, discharging the contents of his gun in the direction of the officers, then disappearing. The last heard of Demar was yesterday morning, when he wasseen out by the Chicago de|Kt with the stockof his gun in one hand and the barrels in the other. He had probably fallen and broken it while running over the knobs Saturday night.
