At first the woman tore her night gown into shreds from which she made a rope several feet in h ngrh, which she fastened between the transom over th * door and the side of the sash so it was supportedby the hinge, and then formed a noose and when all was in readlxn s* th** demented woman partially inserved her head in the noose, in a way that the rope was not around her neck, but passed over her ears and under her ( bin, and then leant d forward, her weight falling on the cord and slowly choked her to death. For the past several months she had been suffering with melancholia and was in the asylum about two weeksCoronor Roberts was called, but owing to the circumstances of the case, decided no inquest was necessary.Mr. Hubbard arrived in the afternoon and last night took the remains to Exeter for interment.~ No blame can be attached to the management of the asylum, as the cunning and quiet manner the rope and noose were prepared would battle the most watchful attendant.
