Murder Suspect Returned to TiptonCity police chief, John Plake, revealed today that a wounded murder suspect, who has been inan Indianapolis hospital since May10, was returned to Tipton thisweek and lodged in the county jail to await trial.The man is Clarence 0. Pickett,41, of Windfall. He suffered shot gun wounds to the left side andwas once listed in critical condition. The wounding followed a murder of Mrs. Margaret L. Smith,who was shot through the headby the same .410 gauge shotgun which blasted Pickett.Pickett is charged with second degree murder. No trial date has been set.
