This raised the excitement again and the Marshal left miller, Sheriff Ford having been previously taken.awav by his friends, who feared the cf-%feet of the excitement upon him, and skirted back to quell the new disturbance. Miller took advantage of this, and ran back to where Burden was standing, near the entrance to his shop, and struck him. It seems that Burden had anticipated an attack and armed himself with,a razor, which he used dexterously, cutting three or four fearful gashes in Miller’s left arm. The latter found that he was getting the worst of it, when he started down Main street, the blood spirting frprn his arm at at every step, at a lively gait, closely followed by Burden, who, however, did not succeed in overtakinghim. The result of the affair is that Col Grove has au ugly wound on his head, Anderson Mincer has a badly broken jaw, and is lying in rather a precarious condition, both the Mincer boys bruised up considerably Milier with an arm that will disable him for months to come..This is the substance so far as we could gather it, and we have given impartially as we understand it.— The whole affair will undergo a thorough legal investigation, as our city authorities are determined to put a stop to these disgraceful scenes. In this we hope they will be seconded by every good citizen, and the majesty of the law vindicated. We want no man persecuted, but we want a thorough prosecution, and every one at fault in the affair punished according to his offense*rIthecomSat:hadopeifewheajectthe“dapreiablecomper:of 1 thala gf nep chai cl os friei inathisldrojChadandtlemandtheCcall*enfJG.
