DON ROANE IS ARRESTED BY SHERIFF HEREYouth is Placed in Jail Pending Filing of Reformatory Petition by OfficialsDon S. Roane, 15 year old youth who escaped afLer being found in possession of an automobile stolen from L. K. Brooks here yesterday, today was picked up by Sheriff Bryan Thigpen, just outside the My limits on the Chatham road. He was placed in jail here pending filing of charges and petition hy the district attorney asking that he be committed to the State Reformatory In Monroe, whioh is expected to be ordered by Judge E« L. Walker within the next few days,The whereabouts of the boy were learned when he wrote a note to Jus father asking for money. The note was carried to Mrs. Roane by 3 negro, following which Mrs. Roane notified Sheriff Thigpen to pick the boy up. The negro was sent back to the hoy with a not from Mrs. Roane, and was found by the sheriff as he and the negro were leaving the woods near the negro church about a mile and a half from town*The automobile was returned to Mr, Brooks yesterday, after the youth had driven it approximately J00 miles since its theft Monday evening. No damage was done to Iho car, however, one tire wai missing when it was recovered.
