DRESSER TAVERN SCENE OF FIGHT; BLAZE FOLLOWS■*. ■■'•'. •' •A. i2-year-old Dresser tavern operator;.was fined $26 yesterday-when lie appeared before Justice of the Peace Lee Eastoh on an assault and battery ch a.r. g e lodged by bis wife.Elmer Hade Brown was arrested by sheriff’s deputies about 3:30 o’clock yesterday morning when they found the couple fighting-in the tavern. About a half hour later, officers received a call that the establishment was on fire. -Deputies Ray Foltz and Jim Barnes sped to the scene and extinguished the blaze which started in a rack of potato chips and in a soft drink case on the floor. They said every window and door glass was broken along with mirrors and vending and amusement machines:Mrs. Brown testified that her husband beat her with his fists. Brown said he was defending himself when his wife charged him with a butcher knife.
