Perhaps the situation will*clear up more when the road has ceased operation and everyone realizes the predicament we are in.It comes out now that the unions did feiot want the road shut down, that part was just a bluff. They are calling on the citizens to save it, but aS the Protective League seems to be the only organization that has the wor%* ers capable of doing anything in this line; we don’t expect the citizens will come to the rescue of the Red-oratlon-iist very scion.Many of the business 'men oppose the guarantee plan because they have no assurance that ttie’ road will con-tinue at the end of the three months, and also they fear the liability they' must assume in case of a Wreck or loss Of life, which is very probable• » i • . 7,while the strike is on.
