fbidat;;july »; 1901It is Said That William Winship Was Cut in the Head Withja Beer Bottle./ _Officer* Are of the Opinion That the Devcrs Woman Did Not Do All theCutting.'/Tbe condition of Will Winship, who was bo severely cut Saturday night, continues to improve and if no unforeseen complications come up he will be around again before long.It was reported around town Mon day night that Winship had been cut with a beer bottle, but Dr. Parsons today stated that the woilnds, especially the big cut in the forehead, could not have been made by a bottle but were inflicted either with a knife or a razor Wlnship's bead was badly bruised and beaten, showing that he must have been struck by a beer bottle or something else.Marshal Pearsey stated at noon today that steps would be taken to make arrests In the case. He said it was reported that Pearl Devers who admitted having done the cutting to a representative of the Star, had left the city The marshal said that if It were true It was a desirable termination of th affair.
