SCENE IN TME POLICE COURT. !A Recipient ot Justice Gets Altogether TooTalkative.Margaret Loftus’ name haa been on the Police Court docket so frequently that without it that document looks dull and uninteresting. Yesterday morning, however, Margaret made up for all lost time, and such a scene has not been enacted in the Police Court for many a day. She was charged with disorderly conduct, the principal witness against her being her sister, Mrs. Delia Clark, who testified that she feared Margaret would kill her. The Judge gave her a sentence of toO line and thirty days in the Works. This fairly set her wild, for, springing like a tigress at Mr*. Clark, she tried to get hold of her, butthe Clark woman ran from the witness-stand, passed the Judge's desk, aud finally got behind the reporters. In the meantime the. court officers had grabbed the irafe Margaret and were hustling her down stairs, she hurling curses and oaths at the Judge as fast as she could spit them out. His Honor ordered her brought back, which was done. She then knelt down on the floor, aud, swear ing by everything that was good and holy, declared she would kill her sister when she got out of the Works.“You will pay a fine of $100 for contempt of Court,” said the Judge. Then she opened her flood-gates of abuse on Fits, aud lilthier language never proceeded from the mouth of a female than that which she used.“You will also give bond in the sum of $500 in each case to keep the peace for one year,’’ concluded the Court. Maggie was finally landed below, and went out with tne rest In the Black Maria.
