Katherine D. BrownBESSEMER, Mich. — Katherine D. Brown, 89, of 213 First Ave., Bessemer, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007, in Ironwood.She was born on June 17, 1918, in Bessemer, daughter of the late John and Mary Pavlovich. She attended St. Sebastian School in Bessemer, and graduated from the A.D. Johnston High School in Bessemer.Katherine was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church and a former member of the Daughters of Isabella.She was married to Albin Forslund. He preceded her in death in 1945. She then was married to William Brown in October, 1949. He preceded her in death in 1984.Katherine had worked as a waitress for most of her life, and had operated Brown’s Caf6 in Bessemer for a number of years.Survivors include one son, Rod Brown, Wixom; one daughter, Delores Saxon, Tucson, Ariz.; three grandsons, Mike Brown, Cleveland, Dave Brown, Northville, and Richard Brown, Osterburg, Pa.; one granddaughter, Kathleen Beltinck, of Mt. Pleasant; and one cousin, Katie Batusic, Indiana.Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 28, at 11 a.m. at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Bessemer. The Rev. Joy J. Adimakkeel will be the celebrant.Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service at the church.Cremation will follow at the Range Crematory in Hurley.Inurnment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Bessemer.Arrangements are by Range Funeral Service and Crematory, Frick-Zielinski Funeral Home in Bessemer.
