STREET IT PISTOL POINTTRAP LAID TO CATCH DIAMONDTHIEF FAILS.erDaring Robber Gets a Reward for His Loot and Makes Escape Without Leaving Clew.Memphis, Tenn., July 27.—Menaced fey a revolver pointed at his hack, but concealed by the folds of a newspaper, T. F. Henniger was marched five blocks along Main street in broad daylight.The man who held the revolver thus received a reward of $250 for a diamond recently stolen from Henniger, and insured his own escape from any trap which have have been laid.Henniger got the diamond, paying not only the $250 reward, which he had advertised, but also,$l which he had promised the thief for his trouble,” in walking to Mr. Henniger’s place of business, 171 North Main street, between Washington and Poplar, from Court square, to which busy spot he had been called by a mysterious telephone message.There at the fountain he was ac-osted by a handsomely dressed woman. who acted as intermediary between Henniger and the man with the diamond, and revolver, drawn and aimed at his breast.Despite the fact that Henniger had a series of carefully planned traps laid for the detention of the daring thief, he made off with the $251 without leaving a clew to his identity.
