Fifty Thousand Petitions Asking Mayor Harrison to Revoke Dance Hall License Will BeCirculated in Churches To-Day.POLICE LIEUTENANTS MICHAEL MORRISSEY, James J. McMahon and James B. All-man of the Twenty-second Street Station were last evening suspended from duty by Chief Gleason after he had filed formal charges against them on their failure to follow the example of Captain Ryan and resign from the service. They now face trial by the Civil Service Board. It is generally believed that Morrissey, if not the others, will yet resign and thus avoid an open trial.Other stirring happenings of the day were:The application for a warrant for the manager of Freiberg’s notorious saloon and dance hall and the refusal of Judge Williams to issue a warrant.The issuance by the Woman’s City Club of 50,000 petitions calling for 1,000,000 signatures asking Mayor Harrison for the instant revocation of the license of Freiberg’s place.
