NEGROES IRE IN MUSKOGEE JillTHREE OF THEM ARE CHARGED WITH THE MURDER OF TWO MARSHALSMUSKOGEE: Deputy MarshalsGrant Cowan and L. B. Shawhan arrived here with Ned Cudjo, charged with the murder of L. P. Dixcn, and John Street and Joe Barcus, charged with the murder of Deputy Marshal Moirison o! Sasakawa. The prisoners arc in the federal jail here. These are three negroes that caire near being lynched by a mob of Infuriated whites. The officers say that everything has quieted down at Sasakawa and Holdenville, near where1 the murders took place, though there is still lots of bitter race feeling. It is claimed these are the men who robbed a stcre at Spaulding Friday night and killed the officers who were trying to arrest them.Interstate Commerce Commission Decides the Territory ComMUSKOGEE: As a result of a decision handed down by the interstate commerce commission the cotton compress at this point will be reopened. Tho commission has decided the suit brought by the Gulf Cotton Compress company, of Muskogee, against the Katy railroad in favor ot the plaintiffs.It was charged in the petition that the Katy discriminated against the local compress by hauling cotton through Muskogee to McAlester, to a compress owned by Lesser Goldman and company. As a result of the dis crimination, it was alleged, the Muskogee compress was forced to shut down. Jt was also changed that the discrimination was responsible for the car shortage that caused such damage in the Indian Territory last fall and winter.The case was fried last February before Commissioners J. C. Clements and J. S. Harlan. It is the first case ever taken before the commission from Indian Territory.The First Bank of Okeene has Med with the territorial secretary notice of an increase in it3 capital stock of from $10,000 to $25,000.
