Thompson photo.SCEXE OF DOUBLE FIIOOTISG—Pictured above is the Shafer garage where Vernon L. Barta, Cedar Rapids undertaker, was slam and where Herbeit Shafer apparently ended his own life after committing the murder. The garage is located next to the Barta mortuary at 825 Fifth avenue SE. Barta and Shafer were in the east end•tof the garage, which is at the left in the picture. They are reported to have been quarreling over a business arrangement. The drive at the\front of the picture is used both by the mortuary and the garage.
