Sheriff Turner, who went to Cedar Lake lastSunday accompanied by Mrs. Turner, succeeded in running in one of the “shell-racket-meir’ who work upon the gullible Iloosiers in that section. He was brought to town and placed in jail, and on Monday morning plead guilty before Squire Cleveland upon two counts. He was lined and costed $25 upon each count, making the total fine and cost about $75. He is still in jail.
