Three arrested for Winburne firesBy Terry Whetstone Staff Writer WINBURNE - In March of this year, fire destroyed a vacant building at 226 Trolly St., Winburne, owned by Nellie Hockenberry of Winburne. In April, fire destroyed a second building along the 200 block of Trolly Street owned by Lawrence Roach of Woodland.The Hockenberry building had damage set at about $35,000 and was not insured.The Roach building had been damaged by fire five years earlier and this time it was destroyed. No damage estimate was available. Thomas E. Josephson and Tpr. Mike McCracken, state police fire marshals at Clearfield, concluded their investigation and have arrested a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, both of Winburne, and an 18-year-oldboy, now living in Fhilipsburg but originally from Winburne, on charges of arson.The 18-year-old was 17 at the time the crime was committed and his name, along with the other two boys wasn’t released due to their ages.Police report they are being charged with arson and related offenses including endangering persons, a felony one count; endangering property, a felony two count; and conspiracy to commit arson.The charges were filed with the Clearfield County JuvenileTurn to Page 6, Col. 4
