By FRANKMIAMI (UPI) — Blonde Mrs. Jacques Mossier, who switched in 12 hours from a Mayo Clinic hospital bed to a bunk in jail, began planning her defense today against charges she helped slay her millionaire husband to keep up a love affair with her nephew.The pretty widow planned a mid - morning jail conference with her attorney, who said he was uncertain whether he would begin immediately trying to free Mrs. Mossier under bond.She has berm a sick woman. I will see how her health stands up under jail conditions. If I think it is in danger, 1 will move immediately to have her moved to a hospital,” said Houston lawyer Clyde Woody.He said it might be to his advantage legally to delay initiation of a habeas corpus po-reeding to have Mrs. Mossier freed under bond.Candace Mossier, 4b, and bearing a resemblance to movie star dune Allvson, flew to Miami Thursday night from Rochester, Minn., where she hadbeen undergoing a series of tests and treatments.She departed the hospital around noon, and by midnight she was bedded down in the Dade County Jail, a new building equipped with air conditioning and television sets for prisoners.Before going to her cell, she carried on a banter with a crush of newspaper and radio-tele vision newsmen and camera men. shook a finger at the, county detective chief when he j began filing questions at her tin* first time he had her away ; form her attorneys, and — ac- j cording to Woody — went through a 90-minute grilling at] headquarters without giving her questioners much to go on.Mrs. Mossier and her nephew* by marriage, 23-year-old Melvin Lane Powers, are both charged with first degree murder in the June 30, 1904. fatal stabbing and bludgeoning of financier Jacques Mossier, 69, in his Key IJiscayne apartment here. They were indicted Tuesday night by a grand jury. Powers has boon in jail since a few days after the muder, | the past month in the county jail here.
