Montgomery was arrested by Clay County authorities at the Indiana State Farm. near Putnamville yesterday as he completed a sentence issued from another count), according to Special Deputy Nathan Overman Overman said Montgomery was arrested on Circuit Court warrants charging him with driving under the influence, driving left of center, and driving with a suspended operator’s licenseClarification given on WhitesThe warrants were issued Jan. 2. 1976. following a Christmas day accident on Ind 59 north of 1-70 Three Brazil teenagers as well as Montgomery were injured in the three-ear crashAccording to Sheriff's department records, the incident occurred whi-n a northbound car driven by Montgomery crossed the center line on snow-covered Ind 59 colliding head-on with an auto driven by Harry Mayle. 17, 17 K. Compton St After being struck by the Montgomery car. Mayle’s car slid into the path of an auto driven by Scott L Hrackney, 18. 707 W Church St . and was again struck Mayle received facial lacerations and bruises in the accident, while a passenger in his car. Kathy Brown. 17 . 275 N Murphy Ave., sustained a head wound, according to Sheriff'sDepartment reports of the incidentA passenger in the Brackney auto, James Garvin. 19, 11 F, Logan St., was treated for knee injuries following the accident.Montgomery was trapped in his vehicle for 30 mmuts following the accident He was transported to Kegional Hospital. Terre Haute, for treatment of a dislocated hip. fractured left leg. and fractured arm. after the incident Montgomery was listed in serious condition in the hospital's intensive care unit for several days following the accident, but was released from Ihe hospital before being arrested in connection with the accident We looked for him for quite a while before locating him at the Stale Farm. Overman said Montgomery was returned to Brazil yesterday, the deputy stated.
