By DAN MILESAn RD 3, Dover man is in Harrison County jail today facing charges of malicious destruction of property in connection with dynamiting of the Tap*pan Truck Stop (Station 15) Sunday morning about 5.Wayne Dessecker, 46, was arrested last night about 11 by Tuscarawas Cuunty sheriff deputies on a warrant signed by Clarence Richard Griffey, 47, of RD 1, Dennison, operator of thetruck stop.Dessecker wiil be arraigned in Harrison county court. No bond has been set for his release from jail.The explosion, which caused an estimated $40,000 in damages, ripped out the entire west end of the one-story frame building and literally distorted the interior of the restaurant kitchen, booths, and counters.On duty at the time of the blast was Griffey and a waitress, Dolly Hendrich, 30, of RD 1, Uhrichsville. She was treated at Twin City Hospital in Dennison for multiple lacerations over her entire body. Griffey escaped injury.Harrison County deputies are being assisted in their investigation by agents of the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation at London. O., and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.Deputies said they also have another possible suspect in the blast. Officers would not elaborate on now much dynamite was used, but one report estimated it at 5 sticks.The explosion blew out windows of neighboring homes and knocked over porch flower boxes for nearly a half-mile radius.A tire and wheel setting against the truck stop building were blown nearly 300 feet into a tree.Miscellaneous damage by flying debris was reported to cars parked at the truck stop andSee BOMBING, Page 6
