Gant, charged with assault with attempt to rape and to rob, and four other men indicted by a special session of the April grand jury Wednesday, entered pleas of not guilty when -arraigned before—Judge E. H. Savord Friday afternoon.Chester K. Gillespie, Cleveland attorney representing Gant,in a letter to the court entereda plea of not guilty for the 17-year old youth indicted on fcurcounts. Gillespie did*not ask that any bail be fixed and Gant returned to Erie-co jail to await trial which will probably not be until the latter p^rt of Augustdue to his lawyer’s inability to be here before that time.Theodore Huston and Julius Moses, through William H. Smith, their attorney, entered not guiltypleas to second degree murdercharges and tentative plans were made to begin their trial on Thursday, July 27.Smithy also represents Norman L. MacCeod charged with issuing worthless checks, trial scheduled for Wednesday. He pleaded not guilty.Richard C.
