A Dog Chase.It took the combined efforts of twoi 1policemen, a crowd of students, and a bunch of east end “kids’* to run down a small mangy dog which was found roaming about last evening on theEast side.The dog was first discovered about seven o'clock, and because of its condition the police were called to put 1 it out of its misery. By the time the police arrived upon the scene, the dog was wandering peacefully about in the! university campus. He displayed tfee| utmost indifference to the curious! crowd which was standing around. I Only when the police finally made their I appearance, did il show that it was!• i • 9 waware of its surroundings. The dog Iwas wise, and to all event, knew! that no good came from men dressed I in “blue coats. And because be was* wise, he gave a leap and was off be-J fore the police and the kida and the! students were awgre of the fact. Aar soon as they came to their senses the I chase began and the miniature mob I was hot upon the trail of the fleeing! dog. IOfficer Joe Collins pulled* his gun! out and fired twice.
