Finally the hack-driver learned that Ilall had been left at the house of ihe Roland woman, and, hearing this, Mrs. Ilall insisted on being driven there. On entering she represented to the landlady that 6he desired to rent a room, and inquired in a casual way of a friend of hers, who had been there. The landlady denied his being there, but finally admitted that he was in bed in another room. Mr«. Hall then iusisted on seeing him before she occupied the room she had engaged, and-was permitted to knock at the door of his room, the laudlady and the hackdriver accompanying her. Mand Hunter, the other inmate of the room, was aroused and opened the door. Mrs. Hall entered and found him asleep in bed. Without arousing him she gazed at him a few seconds in silence. She then turned as if to leave the room when her eyes rested on a revolver which Hall had placed on the bureau before retiring, and, as if seized by a sudden insane impulse, she snatched it from ita rest* ing place, cocked it, and without uttering a word of warning, pointed it at his breast and fired, the ball striking in bis right breast. Hall's body fell to the floor, the head and shoulders tolling uuder the bed, where he was found when the affrighted witnesses had summoned assistance. Uis death had been almost instantaneous. The murderess left the house' and was driven to her hol, and, after securing-her child, gave herself up to the polic^. The coroner was notified of the crime, and held an inqueBt this afternoon, when the above facts were elicited. Mrs. Hall engaged counsel, who refused to allow her to make any statement to the Coroner. She is still in jail, and bears the appearance of an insane person. She appears to regret the crime, which is evidently the outgrowth of insane jealousy. Her husband, to whom she claims she was married four years ago, was very kind to her while here, this being remarked by several persons who had seen them together. Yesterday, however, they had a quarrel over some trivial matter, and Hall endeavored to secure her arrest. He did not return home after closing up last night, and his wife started out in search of him, with the fatal result narrated.new arug store, is a number one gentleman and is doing well.—George L. Miller says that Lyons, in company with three other boys, were picking blackberries iu his patch yesterday, when his wife went out and ordered them to leave. The Lyons boy ran a short distance and then turned and, Miller says, fired a shot at her and another at his little grandson, James Evans, fortunately missing both times. Young Lyons will be arrested some time to-day and will be tried before Ellis.
