POLICEKay Hulett, Havre, said Monday afternoon someone broke out the windshield of a 1977 Chevrolet Camaro while it was parked in the Angstman Motors lot Police said it appeared a rock or a hammer may have been used. Police said their were small foot marks and bicycle tracks around the car. The estimate of loss was placedat $180.FIKECity firemen answered two ambulance calls from Monday morning to Tuesday morning.CORRECTIONA police report on Thomas L-.ee Vinberg, 20, Havre, con tained some errors in the Tuesday, July 19, edition of the Havre Daily News The report incorrectly identified Vinberg as stealing a car belonging to another party The report also incorrectly stated, “The ownerof the stolen vehicle positively identified Vinberg, police said.” The errors were inadvertently made by the Havre Daily News reporter, and not by the Havre Police Department The Havre Police Department reported this is what actually happened in the Vinberg case: Vinberg wasarrested on charges of reckless ( driving and leaving the scene of i an accident. A third charge, | that of falsifying a stolen i vehicle report, was left as a ( pending charge at the time of ; Vinberg’s arrest and was later i dropped. Police said Vinberg was fined $2S0 on each count for reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident. Police said the fines were levied in the court of Judge Emmett Stallcop.Police said Vinberg was involved in an accident near the Golden Spike Lounge Sunday night, was positively identified by at least one witness as leaving his own (Vinberg’s) vehicle, after Vinberg reported to police his vehicle was stolen from a carnival east of Havre. Police said two other witnesses could not be located. Police said Vinberg was arrested at the police station based on a description they received of the driver leaving his own vehicle following the accident near the Golden Spike Lounge.
