Mrs. Daisy DeatsFuneral RitesHeld July 12POFI!Funeral services for Mrs. Daisy Deats, 73. who died in San Antonio Tuesday, July 10. at 5:10 p.m., after a long illness were held from the Smith Funeral Home chapel. Thursday at 4 p.m.. with Judge Walter W. Leamons, Church of Christ minister, officiating. Burial was made leside the husband, who died March 24, 1950.A native of San Saba, Mrs. Deats was born July 20. 1877, and came to Kimble during early childhood with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. O. B. Fleming. Until two years ago she spent the remainder of her life on the South Llano, where she was married to Josh E. Deats on May G. 1903.An invalid for the past three years, Mrs. Deats had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Kuby Smith, in San Antonio the past two years. She had been bedfast since the first of the year.A homemaker in the transition period from horse and buggy days when community life was predominant, Mrs. Deats’ hospitality endeared her to neighbors and acquaintances. The attendance of lifelong friends at the services was a tribute to her friendliness and hospitality.Survivors include the daughter, two sons. Temple of Junction. and Arthur of San Antonio; two brothers. Ollie Fleming ot Lometa and Homer Fleming ot Richton, Miss.; and one sister. Mrs. M. Huffman of San A ntonio.Pall bearers were Ivan Smart.Burke Shanklin and Frank Juthrie, Rocksprings, and Ernest Dunbar, Millard Bennett old Alton Mason.Out-of-town relatives here for he services included Ollie Fle-ning.
