R. R. Enploye BeatenCurtis Query, a son of Miles Query, was beaten by masked men Thursday night while at his work at Wallace Junction.His assailants were not known, bat he expressed his suspicion that they came from Bloomington.Sheriff McCarty waB called about 11:30 p. m, by A. Hays,Monon detective, whogtated that an attempt had been made to wreck the coal chu^e at Wallace and asked McCarty to send a reliable man to do guard duty. Jack Sheekr was sent and has continued on the job since.Query said that four maskedmen covered him with a gun and that one of them gave him a batting A fifth man remainedin the auto.
