His home is in Bated county, Missouri. He gives the name of his pal as Simpson Taylor Crawford, alias Pates. He confesses to stealing horses, but denies having killed Clingan. He admits being present at the killing of Clingan by Crawford, but says that neither of them had anything to do with the killing of Stubbs. He says Crawford shot Clingan, If alloc k and Maddy, and that the man Craig was wounded accidentally.
