Claik.I1The exercises yesterday afternoon, 00 the occasion of laying the coroer-stone of the Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church, were of a very interesting character. In consequence of the extreme hot weather, there were not a great manyorris conducted the cer*I1tt1IIin attendance. Bishop emonies according to a new ritual of the Church, which impressed all present with the solemn grandeur of the occasion which blessed the foundations of a new structure to be reared to(I!the glory erf God.THE EDIFICE, -X- 5 *■As designed by Messrs. Walter A Wilson,thearchitects, was described in the Gazette some months ago. For it, the Trustees hate secured a lot on Ninth street, between Bace and Elm, andone of the handsomest in the City. The building, when completed, will be of the Gothic style, elaborate in design, and its proportions well studied and elegant. The front of the building, (which will be of freestone) including buttreasea, will measure seventy feet, and its depth, including the pulpit reoess lu the rear, and the projection of the tower in front, will be 118 feet. The tower will measure t#enty-one by twenty-one feet at the base and will be 200 feet high.■CIRKXOKIBS.At four o'clock, Bishop Morris commenced the ceremonies by proclaiming the object had in view in the erection of the new plaee of worship, after950 cf the M. E. Collection waawhich hymnsung, and a rery feeling and appropriate prayer waa offered up. Mr. Sutherland, Pastor of the Ninth-street Church, addressed the audience in a soul-stirring manner.Though suffering from debility, he was very happy in his remarks,On account of the crowded state of our columns, we are compelled to omit this address until to-morrow, when it will be given in lull.
