Woman shot downtownBY IAN HITCHENA mother of two was taken to Brandon hospital yesterday with a wound to her abdomen following a shooting at a downtown apartment.Her two sons, aged 17 and 13, clutched their heads in distress as paramedics carried their mom on a stretcher from their apartment in a brick house in the 400-block of 10th Street.“My mom just got shot,” the 13-year-old son said quietly as he leaned against a street sign for support.Police were called to the apartment block, located across the street from the back of city hall and near the future site of the new city police station, at 4:42 p.m.About half a dozen officers and at least two members of the Brandon Police Service Forensic Identification Unit were on scene.Police didn’t release the victim’s name, but BPS Sgt.
