Store Register Looted Of Cash; Safe Is WreckedTwo Burglaries In City Last Niglit ReportedTo PoliceA grocery store was entered and looted of available cash and an attempt was made to break into the safe at the Jacobson One-Stop Service station at 1132 Caledonia street early this morning.Between S8 and 510 in Canadian dimes and quarters, some old American coins and 50 cents in pennies were taken in the burglary of the Bruha grocery store at 911 Adams street.Police discovered the break-in at 2;2Q a, m. Carl Bruha was immediately called and checked the store. The money was taken out of the cash register.Break Window Entry was made by cutting and breaking out a portion of a rear basement window. The window was unatcbod and the 'prowler went up the basement stairs to the store. He left in the same manner.Th* break-in at Jacobson’s was made sometime alter closing at 0:45 lost night. Glass in- a rear window was broken with a rock. The window was unlatched to gain entry. Next the thief broke the glass in a door between the garage and salesroom, and ho apparently crowlcd through a small window from the salesroom into the office.Combination Wrecked A large hammer, four screwdrivers of different lengths and two punches were laying on the floor by the safe. The combination has been knocked off the safe, but the thief failed to get the. dooropen. , , ,Some iwo-cent stamps taken out. of a desk drawer were found on a nearby chair and 43 pennies were undisturbed in the cash register.
