Winlo John Tilly was riding along Main j ^l} street, with an account book under his arm, when op- i posito McC in’s Frank McCan appeared in the I,udoorway and raising a gun to his face said: “You son j *lil of a b —Ii I've got you now.” Tilley said: “Don’t rtuI shoot, I’m unarmed,' at the timoUuniing bis I^1 horse toward 11^4*10C*Jtfi$the |hn. As he attempted to extricate himself, | ^ McCan ran toward him and Knapped the other barrel of his piece -a double barrelled shot-gun. He obtained a change of venue and Justice Ben nil was sent for. The representations made to the District Attorney are of a startling character ! li and he left for the scene of action evening. The people of Kern county will evpect efficient and energetic notion at his hands.
