Eugene Hotel robbedTwo men robbed the Eugene Hotel of approximately $50 at about 4:09 a.m. this morning, the Monroe Police report.Raymond W. Meyers, night clerk at the Eugene Hotel, toldinvestigating officers that two men entered the Hotel lobby, and one of them walked behind the desk and Meyers. He then ordered Meyers to open the money box.The man took about $50 and stuffed the money into his trouser pocket before leaving by the front door with the second man. Meyers describes the men as being about 5’6”, weighing between 130 and 140 pounds, with shoulder-length brown or dirty blond hair. One had a moustache. They were dressed in clean work clothes.Neither subject ever displayed a weapon, but the second man standing in thelobby held his hand in his pocket tinuing their investigation of theat all times. Police are con- robbery.
