Carter Hearing Is Set for Wednesday lt;Judge William J. Dick, Coun-^ ty Court Judge, has set a preliminary hearing for July 23rd * for Billy Wayne Carter, 702 Whittier St., who is charged with f the death of Hider Ervin on -East Eleventh Avenue and East-.5 Street. The date for the preliminary; hearing, now set for 2 p; m. ^next Wednesday, may be .changed, however. Mr. Carter i- has retained Chester Lewis of |Wichita, as his attorney. The defendant, has been under guard! iat an Emporia hospital while ramputation, resulting from a ishotgun wound inflicted during cthe altercation.’
