The following notice taken from a Sopris, Colorado newspaper gives an account of William Everett Bonham who has been in the standing army for a number of years and who has been promoted fromtime to time until he is now Sar-*geant.“More than one hundredbottles of beer, the contents of two barrels brought from Raton, N. M.,by Frank Orekar,a saloon-man of Segundo, were seized andbroken up on Wednesday night at Sopris by a detachment of federal troops under Sergeant Bonham. The barrels were opened and every bottle smashed into fragments and the beer spilled forming a miniature lake while coal company employees and soildiers looked on,Orekar drove to Raton in his agon and purchased the beer. The journey through Morleyand Starkville was made without molestation b u t at Sopris at 11 o’clock at night Shrgeant Bonham was waiting. Orekar was ordered to unload the barrels and to open them up after which the beer was seized. Word has been received by t h e federal officers of the Orekar mission at Raton late in the evening and Bonham was instructed to await the arrival of the wagon load of beer.”Sargeant Bonham is the son of Mrs. S. E. Bonham, of this city. He is expected to pay hisfo*ks and many friehds here a visit soon.
