The child eoaid not have strayed far away, and may have been asleep somewhere iu the thick underbrush.A tramp passed the place at about 5 o’clock, and he may have carried away the child. The distracted family and their neighbors are to-day searching the * ooda inch by inch in quest of the child.The search has been continued steadily by many of the neighbors, and up to noon to-day no trace of the child had been found.George Conklin#, the fatter of the missing child, came to this city, this afternoon, to cofisalt with the authorities as to whether any tramps had been seen having with tfcpm a child answering the description of the little one.
