Arnold, who presided at the four-day trial, continued the case to July 25 for sentencing of the defendant.Vasquci was found guilty of the manslaughter charge in a verdict returned by the jury about9:80 o. m. Thursday. The defendant was tried on a second degree murder charge filed against him in connection with the shooting death of Joe Martinez Alvarez, 50, cf rural Ault, at an Ault bar last Dec. 10.Manslaughter Is a lesser included offense in a second degree murder charge.The jury also returned aof menacing Martin Perez, bouncer at the El Sombrero Bar in Ault, with a pistol.People's witnesses at the trial testified Vasquez had fired two shots from a .32 cal. pistol in the direction of Perez, then turned and fired two shots at Alvarez, one of which struck and killed him.Michael Varallo, assistant district attorney, and Melvin Okainoto, deputy district attorney, represented the people at the trial. Bryan Shaha, public defender, and John Richilano, deputy public defender, were Vasques's, attorneys.
