Colombo*, Ind., July 14—IM-vtu Park*. 20 years old, KM of Henry Parks, a farmer of Nineveh township, was arrested at his father’s home this afternoon and, when placed ha the Johnson county jail at Franklin, confessed committing seven burglaries here and at Franklin. Ralph Lee, who was arrested at the same time at the home of his mother in Brown ’county, three miles from the Parks home, and was brought here and placed in jail, insists that he only “watched.” : Officers from this and Johnson* counties searched the Parks and!Lee farms, where they recovered i \ more than $500 worth of stolen ifew weeks ago.Parks confessed four burglaries at Franklin and three here. The: Charles A. J. Schaefer hard-1 ware store, the Stahlhut Lowe' drug store and the George Nein-; abor tailor shop here were rob-, bed. The stolen property, which, included hardware. jewelry, clothing, kodaks, pipes, cigars; and tobacco, was found in woods j near the homes of the prisoners,! in barns, chicken houses, cellars! and in attics of their homes, i \Vhcn the officers arrived at the] Lee home they found Ralph Lee, in l»ed. last asleep. One of the* officers leveled a big revolver at his head mid when young Lee awoke and gazed into the muzdle he said drowsily: “That looks like a hogshead barrel to me.” The burglaries to which Parks confessed were committed with-* in the last lew weeks and in most cases entrance to the buildings was effected through holes nine by twelve inches.
