No Sach Advlct Wanted.—Mr. Thomas Brewer, the Sprlngtield sport, was in the city to have the ball of Watson and Martin, the confidence men reduced. lie said they had harmed no one and got not a single dollar and are now enduring an unmerited hardship. The general public will not agree with him. The ball of , these men is just right, and ought not to be reduced one cent. Men who attempt the game they did are not entitled to mercy and consideration. These men undoubtedly swindled Dr. Wolcott, of Milwaukee, out of $fvr)00, and would have taken ’Squire Kellogg’s last dollar. If the venerable Dr. Wolcott can drag out bis life in poverty our “con” friends can surely endure a few weeks retirement in our JalL At least the i people of Bloomington are not so badly In need of advice as to how to treat these i rogues as to ask It from Tom Brewer, or any of the “smooth people” who call, upon Watson and Martin. Justice Fulwiler did a good thing when be nailed them up on the Sd.OOO peg. Their companions on the outside may be lonesome, hut the general com-| munity can stand It without them.
