Policeman Prosecuted.The case of the state against James Hig-j gins was tried before 'squire Huekeby yes* tenlny afternoon, and the defendant acquit -ted.This was a case on ait affidavit tiled by John Snipp. charging Higgins with |*?rjury. ii. had hied an aiHdnvit against Snipp for | larceny, charging that said Snipp had stolen iron belonging to the DePauw glass works. Stiipp wjls tried and acquitted and tlien Jiled the affidavit against Higgins. for swearing to the affidavit.| Higgim is now looking up some other matters and it is probable that more prosecutions will grow out of the matter.
