SHERIFF DIRECTED I TO PLACE LIQUOR IN COURT CHARGEJACKSON, Miss., July 13.—(APy— Hinds county's sheriff was served with • writ of replevin by a federal court officer here today directing him to surrender into custody of the federal court 205 cases of bonded!whisky, valued at %i,M, which was seised by county officers her# several j days ago.At the time of th# seizure, Con-v stables Joe Shurden and C. H, New-f man arrested Carey Beasley and charged him with violating the state prohibition laws.The WTit of replevin was issued by U. S. District Court Clerk Ben!Todd on application of Robert C. Denham who said he acted for the United States Uquor importers and Distributors, Inc., of New Orleans. The writ was issued on th# ground that the liquor was being moved in interstate shipment, and that it had not reached its destination. The raiding officer* said they found the liquor stored In a building on Beasley's premises,Sheriff John W. Roberts refused to surrender the confiscated liquor to*day, and was advised by his attorney, ha said, to await an order ferom the district fudga. : V
